Q: I have my web hosting plan now how do I build my website?

TentacHost offers many great tools that can help you make a professional website. We supply a free Website Builder, which is included with all shared web hosting plans. This Website Builder will help you get a professional-looking website off the ground in minutes. You can also use CMS (content management system) like WordPress, Joomla! or any of the many website building tools offered for free with our 1-click script installer, Softaculous. The other option is to use our parent web design company Tenatc.co.uk to design that ideal web presence for your business.

Q: How does web hosting work?

Think of web hosting as renting a piece of land to build an online presence. When you buy web hosting, you are buying space and resources on a server needed to build and present a website. TentacHost’s web hosting plan gives you the space and a ton of support features, tools and expert support so you can have the website of your dreams.

Q: Will I have enough storage?

Our business email package has 5GB of storage which is generally more than enough even for a heavily used account as an average email only has a few kilobytes of data. We are aware that attachments can take a lot of space and if this is an issue then an account can be upgraded. We will always let you know if you are reaching your date limit and advise of appropriate action.

Q: Will I have access to all components for email services?

Yes is the simple answer. You can CC, BCC into messages and replies, add attachments search email folders. If setup in Outlook or Thunderbird you will access to all the services those platforms offer-diaries, scheduling meetings, rules for incoming mail, all mail filters, mailing lists etc.….

Q: Where are my emails stored and hosted?

If you set up an email account under the Post Office Protocol, emails are downloaded onto one device and then kept there locally, just like a letter. However, we strongly recommend using the IMAP email protocol. This means emails are stored in the cloud, where they can be accessed from any device at any time. You can open emails in Outlook, reply to them via webmail and check they were sent using an app. Tentachost will store your messages (and any sub‐folders you create to organise them) on our secure servers, which you will have full access to via cPanel and are constantly being backed up to keep your data safe.
